The Woodbridge Group, which offers innovative urethane and particle foam technologies, to serve the automotive, commercial, military, and recreational vehicle industries, along with several other business sectors including protective packaging, healthcare, and building products, has announced the grand opening of its latest automotive moulded seating foam plant located in Capivari, Brazil.

The 7,000 square metre, industry leading facility is capable of producing over half a million car sets per year, and is situated in close proximity to many tier one and original equipment customers, who continue to build new plants in the region.

Paulo Farina, vice president & GM, South America, The Woodbridge Group said, “We are excited to announce the Capivari plant is ready to exceed our customers’ expectations. This is certainly a milestone, further solidifying our commitment to our customers. We intend this state-of-the-art facility to be a centre of excellence, offering superior quality products. I look forward to engaging with the Capivari community, as we do in the five other Brazilian locations we operate in. Social responsibility is one of our operational pillars. At full capacity, we will employ 150 people in this facility including production teammates, process, tooling and maintenance engineers and technicians, and a complete management team.”

Initially the Capivari plant will strictly support customer seating foam requirements, but plans are already being made to expand the facility’s capabilities to produce interior parts such as head restraints and arm rests, according to a press release.

The Woodbridge Group and its partners in The World Polyurethane Alliance operate 64 facilities in 17 countries, as global leaders in the development and production of polyurethane and expanded polypropylene products. (GK)
