Serafin Group acquires Hahl-Pedex

The Serafin Group, which is active in the technical textiles segment through its subsidiary Perlon Nextrusion Monofil GmbH, has acquired the Hahl-Pedex Group.

“The Serafin Group is a diversified group of companies whose philosophy is based on more than 150 years of entrepreneurial tradition of the Haindl family,” a press release stated.

“Through combined expertise in the areas of monofilaments, synthetic brush filaments, abrasive filaments, dental and personal care filaments, innovative products can be supplied to customers,” it added.

Its clients are serviced from various German sites like Bobingen for PET, Munderkingen for Abrasive and Synthetic Brush Filaments, Dormagen for PA and Wald-Michelbach for Dental Filaments.

Serafin clients also get serviced from sites in Lexington - USA, Sejong-Si - South Korea and from China beginning from 2016.

Searfin further added that customers can be assured that they will receive the same quality of service as in the past, with even more specialised technical expertise.

In the future, the technical textiles segment will employ more than 660 people all over the world and generate a turnover of over €130 million.

The technical textiles division has a production capacity of more than 20,000 tons and comprises nearly all melt spinnable polymers in the range.

Starting from January 1st, 2016, the CEO of the technical textiles division will be Florian Kisling, the current CEO of the Hahl-Pedex Group.

Christlorenz Bundi, currently the CEO of Perlon Nextrusion Monofil GmbH, is joining the advisory board. (AR)
