Lydall appoints Paul Marold as new president

Lydall, Inc., developer of specialty engineered products for the thermal/acoustical and filtration/separation markets, has appointed Paul A. Marold as president, Lydall Performance Materials.

Marold will be joining Lydall from his position as the chief operating officer of Sontara, a business division of Jacob Holm Group. Sontara is a global nonwovens business that produces products used in a wide variety of industrial and medical applications. Prior to joining Sontara, Marold held key customer-facing leadership positions at prominent filtration and nonwovens companies, such as Clarcor, American Air Filter, and Ahlstrom Oy, centred around strategic growth and innovation, according to a press release.

Marold holds a BS degree in petroleum & natural gas engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and completed his post-graduate studies at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. He is a member of the executive committee of the Board of Directors of the Association of the Nonwovens Fabrics Industry (INDA) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Air Filtration Association (NAFA).
