Roctool shows new molding technology at JEC World

March 17, 2016 - France

Roctool, a technology solution provider to diverse industries based in France, presented its new molding technology – the Light Induction Tooling (LIT) system, expected to benefit industries such as aerospace, automotive and transport, at JEC World 2016 held in Paris from March 8-10, according to the company blog.

The system enables manufacturers to improve their existing production capacity, production of large parts and is adaptable to thermoplastic and thermoset composites. It enables the production of inexpensive composite parts with quick cycle times.

It does not require compression press machines or large forming press, which is expensive for many original equipment manufacturers (OEM).

Commenting on the system, Mathieu Boulanger, CEO of Roctool said, “With this new out-of-press and out of autoclave (OOA) technique, manufacturers can now increase their capabilities without investing in large tonnage machines, and the OEM can extend their supply chain for such composite parts.”

“Making large composite parts without compression machines, with light tooling configurations and precise temperature control is a game changer,” he added.

Live demonstrations of Roctool LIT were carried out at the JEC World. (MCJ)
