October 10, 2017 - United States Of America
UltraTech International, Jacksonville, has won this year’s innovation award of the Industrial Fabrics Foundation in the category of “Chemicals, Coatings and Compounds” with the EverShield C6 water-based fabric treatment. The company has been awarded a prize of $5,000. EverShield was developed under a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programme.
EverShield was developed for the US military when a US Army General challenged scientists at the US Natick Soldier Research Centre to develop a “self-cleaning uniform.” After development and testing, UltraTech was able to obtain the worldwide licensing rights to the product. The fabric treatment is sold in a liquid concentrate form to mills for application during manufacturing; it’s applied to bulk fabric using a dip, pad, dry and cure process.
SUREFAS got the award for the CAF-Composite Screw Stud in the category of Hardware and Findings, TRI Environmental got the award for the Commercial Electrical Leak Location Equipment in the category of Equipment and Tools, DigiShapes got the award for its Digital Boat Covers in the category of Services to Manufacturers, Infinity Canopy received the award for the Infinity Canopy Modular Slide-on Wire Shade System in the category of End Products, and Polartec got the award for Polartec Delta in the category of Fabrics, Fibres and Films.
