India’s technical textiles industry is projected to grow at 20 per cent year-on-year as the segment's potential remains untapped, according to textile commissioner Kavita Gupta, who said India only accounts for 3 per cent of global technical textile production. She was addressing TECHNOTEX 2018, a conference on technical textiles in New Delhi recently.

The exhibition-cum-conference was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Around 168 exhibitors from 39 nations, including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam and the United States, participated in the conference, a news agency reported. (DS)
