Solmax appoints Eric Blond as global technical director

Solmax, the world’s largest geosynthetics manufacturer, has appointed Eric Blond to serve as its global technical director effective June 3, 2019. Blond holds nearly 25 years of experience in geosynthetic testing, research and knowledge of civil engineering and polymeric construction materials. He holds a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering.

Eric has served for more than 20 years within the CTT Group, where he was in charge of the geosynthetic division known as ‘Sageos’. He was an invited as lecturer at École Polytechnique de Montreal. He is a widely published author, conference speaker and trainer, according to a press release by Solmax.

Eric continues to be involved in various committee, standard development and professional organisations dedicated to the geotechnical, geosynthetic and related industries, such as CGS (Canadian Geotechnical Society), IGS (International Geosynthetics Society), ASTM D35 (American Society for Testing and Materials, Geosynthetics com-mittee) and ISO TC221 (International Organization for Standardization, Technical Committee on Geosynthetics).
