Myant’s Health and Wellness System gets CES award

November 20, 2019 - Canada

Myant, leader in textile computing, has won CES 2020 Innovation Award for its Health and Wellness System. CES Innovation Awards is an annual competition which honours outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products. The system provides a continuous connection to the human body by measuring biometrics through everyday clothing.

“Connectedness between you, your body, your loved ones and your world is essential to a healthy life. The relationship between social connectedness and health outcomes is central to the reason Myant created the Skiin Connected Health & Wellness System. Continuous monitoring of ECG, stress level, sleep quality, activity, temperature, among other metrics, is one of the most efficient and reliable ways to potentially prevent health issues,” the company says.

Coming to market under Myant’s consumer facing brand Skiin, the system provides a continuous connection to the human body by embedding the ability to measure biometrics directly into everyday clothing. The system includes a variety of clothing options that can track one’s health including underwear, bras, shirts, and sleep masks, providing the option of 24/7 monitoring. These garments connect to the Skiin App, running on the Myant Platform, which analyses the data and provides advice about lifestyle changes to improve one’s wellbeing.

Sharing this information with one’s Care Circle ensures that one is never alone in one’s journey towards better health. The underwear will be the first garment of this system, launching in Q1 2020.

Future updates to the Skiin app will unlock additional potential from the Myant Platform, enabling users to subscribe to services such as slip and fall detection, driver fatigue monitoring, ovulation tracking, and atrial fibrillation detection.

Myant is engaging partners to help develop the ecosystem on both the textile interface side (that is apparel, environments) as well as the algorithm and outcomes side.

The company is gearing up for CES 2020 from January 7 to 10 in Las Vegas. It will feature live demos and presentations about the future of connected work, play, and home.

“Myant is thrilled to be acknowledged as a winner in the Health & Wellness category of the CES 2020 Innovation Awards,” said Tony Chahine, founder and CEO of Myant. “This award is a testimony to the tremendous need people have to participate and develop meaningful connections. It is time for technology to morph around people as opposed to the other way around. Technology should fade out of our daily consciousness, allowing us to bring empathy and the human element back into the way we connect with our own bodies, with each other, and with the world around us.”
