ExxonMobil approves Airborne Oil & Gas' TCP product

ExxonMobil Upstream Integrated Solutions Company (ExxonMobil) has approved Airborne Oil & Gas’ thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) product for use globally. The qualification came following a stringent and detailed assessment of Airborne Oil & Gas’ qualification test data and track record. The TCP jumper product is now accepted for water injection purposes.
Following a stringent and detailed assessment of Airborne Oil & Gas’ qualification test data and track record to date, the supermajor accepted the TCP jumper product for water injection purposes on its affiliates’ projects worldwide.
Krassimir Doynov, senior technical advisor flexibles, umbilicals and risers, said: “In ExxonMobil Upstream Integrated Solutions Company, we see potential for the use of TCP as an intrinsically non-corroding and spoolable lightweight pipe that can be used in a range of static and dynamic deep water applications.”
Henk de Boer, chief technology officer with Airborne Oil & Gas, commented: “With our TCP products based on glass fibre and PolyEthylene fully qualified by DNVGL as well as many major operators around the globe, we have built a basis of track record on flowlines and jumpers in water injection, methanol injection, gas lift and hydrocarbon production applications.”
