Composites UK to return with live events from September
August 27, 2021 - United Kingdom
Composites UK is set to a return with live events from September. During the pandemic, the association moved its events online, successfully delivering a mix of presentations and online networking that was as close to meeting with others as possible through virtual channels. It will continue to host webinars and face-to-face events in the coming months.
Its first live event is the
International Composites Summit (ICS), co-organised with Fluency Marketing, which is a new exhibition focussed solely on the composites supply chain, created at the request of Composites UK members. The summit will be held on September 8-9, 2021, in London and mixes exhibition stand with forum sessions from top industry names talking about supply chain development, exporting and more. The event is supported by JEC, the European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA), American Manufacturers Composites Association (ACMA), Composites in Manufacturing Magazine (CiM) and Materials & Manufacturing Technologies Magazine (M&MT), Composites UK said in a press release.
October will see the return of the Associations conferences, starting with the annual Thermoplastic Composites conference, this year focussing on sustainability, co-organised with BPF on October 5, in London. It will be followed on October 21, 2021, with the Defence Sector Showcase (Bristol) before they move into November for the 2021 Industry Awards Dinner on November 3, 2021, in Birmingham and a day event on Bio-Materials from the Sustainability sub-group on November 17, 2021, in Warwick.
With exhibitions also returning to the calendar, Composites UK will host a stand with member companies, Design & Display Structures, National Composites Centre and Scott Bader, at UK Construction Week from October 5-7, 2021, in Birmingham NEC, in stand B560 and will take its own stand as one of the headline industry partners at the Advanced Engineering Show on November 3-4, 2021, in Birmingham NEC, stand T64, according to Composites UK.
The Association’s online series will continue with three separate webinars looking at fire performance of composites in sub-surface rail on September 28, mass transport on October 14, and building applications on November 30, 2021.
“We’re looking forward to getting back out there and seeing our members once again. We’re particularly excited about ICS with it being our first move into hosting our own trade show and have been encouraged by the support of the industry even though we all perhaps felt we’d be further on the other side of the pandemic by now. It definitely promises to be a fantastic event.” Claire Whysall, marketing and communications manager said.
