The Responsible Flushing Alliance (RFA) has announced that Crocodile Cloth is joining its ranks of wipes manufacturers, wastewater treatment groups, and public health advocates working to address the improper disposal of non-flushable wipes marked with the ‘Do Not Flush’ symbol.
Crocodile Cloth was founded in 2019 and specially designed for life’s greasiest and grimiest jobs—at home or on the job. The industrial-grade, disposable cleaning cloths are bigger and stronger than ordinary wipes for fast cleanup of oil, grease, grime, and adhesives on skin, tools or surfaces, RFA said in a press release.
“We are always excited to welcome new members into the organisation, especially when they’re passionate about helping consumers know how to properly use and dispose of their product,” said RFA president Lara Wyss. “Crocodile Cloth will play a key role in helping educate consumers about proper flushing habits and lend their unique expertise to our existing campaigns and new initiatives.”
In July 2022, California’s Wet Wipes Labelling Law began mandating the inclusion of the ‘Do Not Flush’ symbol on all packaging of non-flushable wipes. The law also requires the wipes industry to conduct consumer education campaigns to draw attention to the symbol and help consumers understand what personal care products cannot be flushed.
“We strive to be an authority in the wet cleaning wipe market, both with our partners and with our product’s end users,” said Bryce Kenimer, director of sales at Crocodile Cloth. “Crocodile Cloth is built on a foundation that always keeps our people, product and planet top of mind. Joining the RFA directly builds on top of our foundational values here at Crocodile Cloth.”
