Rajeev Saxena, joint secretary of the ministry of textiles, government of India, highlighted the diverse applications of technical textiles and their potential market opportunities. He called on the industries in attendance to participate in the forthcoming Bharat Tex 2024 event. This major event presents an opportunity for industry members to demonstrate their innovative ideas and capabilities in the field of technical textiles, the ministry of textiles said in a media release.
The conference featured panel discussions on a range of topics, including strategies for a circular economy, sustainability in technical textiles, and the role of agrotextiles and geotextiles in infrastructure development. Additionally, future trends in technical textiles were explored. The event brought together eminent speakers, scientists, and industrialists from various parts of India, including Andhra Pradesh.
G Amarnath, minister of industries, infrastructure, investment and commerce, information technology, and handlooms and textiles, government of Andhra Pradesh, stressed the significance of technical textiles and welcomed prospective investors, including those interested in foreign direct investment (FDI). K Sunitha, principal secretary to the government of Andhra Pradesh for handlooms and textiles, industries and commerce department, provided insights into the state government's initiatives to develop the MSME sector in handlooms and textiles, highlighting the emerging opportunities in technical textiles.
