Reifenhauser honours the best suppliers of 2011

On February 14, 2012 Reifenhauser Maschinenfabrik presented the Reifenhauser Supplier Awards for the tenth time to honour the best suppliers of the year 2011 to Reifenhauser Extrusion, Reifenhauser Reicofil und Reiloy Metall. Two additional special prizes were presented this year as well. With the award, Reifenhauser recognizes excellent performance, superior commitment and important contributions to the success of the company.

The winners of the Supplier Award 2011 personally accepted the awards at the company's site in Troisdorf on 14.02.2012.

The Reifenhauser group on the criteria quality, delivery reliability, cooperation and innovation rated 277 suppliers accounting for 95 percent of the total procurement volume in terms of value this year. 40 percent of this group achieved the top rating of "excellent". From this group, seven Supplier Award winners were selected by an internal jury consisting of representatives from the purchasing department, quality management department and the executive board.

The Supplier of the Year 2011 awards were presented to:

- Elgan Diamant-Werkzeuge GmbH & Co. KG : Honing stones
- Filtertechnik Europa GmbH & Co. KG: Filter screens
- Heinz Strumpen & Sohn: Turning and milling components
- Kreft & Röhrig GmbH: Coating technology
- Lytzen Ingeniorfirmaet A/S: Special equipment for spunbonding lines
- SAF Wärmetechnik GmbH: Heating elements
- Schäfer Abkantwerkzeuge: Contract manufacture

A special prize for particularly successful projects and high flexibility was awarded to the following companies:

- MBS Spedition: Forwarding company
- Siemens AG: Motors, switch plants, automation systems

With SAF Wärmetechnik GmbH, there is a company among this year's winners which has become a supplier to Reifenhäuser only recently. Jörg Stolz, head of the purchasing department says: "Of course we are very pleased when a cooperation works well right from the start. It makes us feel confident that it can result in a long-term business relationship we are striving for with all our suppliers and actually achieve in the majority of cases." Award winner Lytzen is a good example of such longstanding business partnership based on mutual trust. The company has been cooperating with Reifenhäuser since 1986 and was presented the Award already for the third time this year.

All winners of this year's Supplier Award excel with consistently high quality and a high level of cooperation, independent of the duration of cooperation. That enables us to work together beyond agreement conditions. According to Jörg Stolz, it is a basic prerequisite for the success of the Reifenhäuser group, and he adds: "Especially in new and unknown situations in the project business we depend on flexible, highly engaged business partners who constantly bring in new knowledge. We are very pleased to have such partners."
