US President Joe Biden has decided not to implement a tariff rate quota on fine-denier polyester staple fibre (PSF) imports, following a section 201 safeguard case by US fibre producers. Instead, a quota will apply only to PSF imports under the temporary importation under bond (TIB) programme, primarily affecting woven textiles and apparel.

The Global Nonwoven Markets Report (2023–2028) highlights a 5.4 per cent annual growth in nonwoven production from 2013 to 2023, driven by spunlaid and needlepunch processes. China led this growth, contributing 4.5 million tonnes with a 9.4 per cent annual increase. The report also shows strong demand in wipes, medical, and transportation sectors.

Drylock Technologies has begun the construction on its third plant in Brazil, located in Capivari, São Paulo. The €24.5 million (~$25.47 million) investment will cover a 30,000 m² factory with high-tech machinery and a distribution centre. The new facility, Drylock’s 11th globally, aims to strengthen its position in Brazil's diaper market.
