Ahmedabad, India-based Sanrhea Technical Textiles Ltd. (STTL) is planning to set up a new 200 tons capacity plant to more than double its existing woven industrial textiles capacity.
Over the years, the company has grown to become one of the largest and most reputed manufacturers of Resorcinol Formaldehyde Latex (RFL) dipped fabrics for conveyor belts, tyres and other rubber products.
“Sanrhea is into woven industrial textiles, predominantly for the rubber industry. We have a 150 tons plant making various fabrics for rubber industrial applications which mainly covers tyres, auto components, etc.,” Mr. Tushar Patel, Managing Director, STTL, told technicaltextile.net.
“We are planning to expand in 2014. We have already started looking for appropriate land to set up a completely new facility with capacity of 200 tons. We are looking at options for land not very far from our existing plant as it would be easier to operate when two plants are in proximity,” he informs.
“The new plant will involve investment of around Rs. 400-500 million,” he reveals.
Talking about future objectives of the firm, he states, “STTL is no.2 in the segment in India and now we are aiming to get more into exports as well as get a better foothold in the tyre companies which are currently more concentrated on the conveyer belt segment of the industry.”
“Our expansion plan is aimed at increasing production to increase our exports and cater a little more to the tyre industry. We also have a specialized segment of high value rubber component market where also we see growth prospects,” he adds.
