Lanxess, a Germany-based leading specialty chemicals company, has announced that Frederique van Baarle will take over as head of the high performance materials business unit with effect from June 1, 2020, succeeding Michael Zobel. The Lanxess subsidiary Bond-Laminates is part of a project that is collecting the standards-compliant material data of commercial composites to upload these to the Campus plastics database. Several other international producers are also part of the project. The properties and processing characteristics of high-performance materials are still unknown.

The supervisory board of Lanxess AG has appointed Anno Borkowsky to the board of management of the specialty chemicals company, effective June 1, 2019. In his new role, Borkowsky, who holds a doctorate in chemistry, will take responsibility for the Specialty Additives segment. Currently, he is heading the Additives business unit at Lanxess.

Specialty chemicals company Lanxess has planned to strengthen its global asset base for flame retardant additives with investments of around €200 million over the next three years.
