Carbon firm, SGL Group, showcased its comprehensive range of graphite products suited for the heat treat (HT) industry at the 12th showcase of Furnaces North America (FNA), the largest heat treat showcase in North America, held from October 4 to 5, 2016, in the Nashville Convention Center, 601 Commerce Center - Nashville, Tennessee, at booth #511.

SGL Group displayed a SIGRABOND Performance grade, carbon-fibre reinforced carbon (CFRC) charging fixture, which unlike the standard weave pattern style, can be used for oil quenching. The fixture is a three-tiered design, measuring 18” in height X 24” wide X 36” in length. Other featured products include; SIGRATHERM soft and rigid felts, SIGRABOND profiles, angles and heat shields, and SIGRAFINE heating elements.

SIGRABOND charging systems encompasses excellent technical properties, as well as being lightweight, sturdy, and energy efficient. These systems are considerably lighter than typical competing options such as steel, molybdenum or nickel-chrome alloys; creating less thermal mass, quicker heat up and cool down cycles, increased load capacity and reduced energy costs. SGL Group's product is proven to retain its shape and not show signs of fatigue or warping after hundreds of furnace cycles, preventing part distortion, increasing the lifetime and reducing the cost of ownership for the fixture.

The continuous adaption and improvement of SGL Group's versatile customer-orientated specialty graphite solutions is part of the company's path forward to foster megatrends like mobility, energy supply, and digitalisation. (GK)
