Suominen, a leading manufacturer of nonwovens used in wiping products, has bagged the Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics (RISE) durable product award for Fibrella Lite, a nonwoven product for absorbent hygiene products, by INDA, at the RISE conference held on January 28, 2016.
The award recognises innovation in new commercial nonwoven durable products. According to INDA, a nonwovens industry association, Fibrella Lite is an example of the innovative application of technology allowing the matching of traditionally incompatible nonwoven features like strength, softness and light weight together in one material. Fibrella Lite nonwoven meets the exacting requirements for a light yet stretchable material with strength and elongation properties required in laminates for absorbent hygiene products in baby care and adult incontinence applications, according to a press release.Suominen, a leading manufacturer of nonwovens used in wiping products, has bagged the Research, Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics (RISE)#
Lynda A. Kelly, senior vice president, care business area said, “Suominen is honoured to receive the prestigious RISE award for Fibrella Lite, a lightweight nonwoven spunlaced product which offers softness, strength and high elongation necessary for today's demanding customers. Suominen's long history in nonwovens specialty processes such as thermal bond, fibre spinning and spunlacing provided the depth of knowledge necessary to create this complex lightweight spunlaced product made with 100 per cent thermoplastic fibres, pushing the capability of traditional spunlaced production.” (GK)
