Suominen makes apertured substrates for South America

Suominen, a leading global supplier of nonwovens, introduces Fibrella Perf Spunlace, a new range of apertured substrates for the South American medical markets.

Fibrella Perf product range offers solutions suitable for traditional and advanced wound care as well as surgical applications. Fibrella Perf nonwovens feature superior levels of safety, softness, and comfort. They are breathable, skin-friendly, low-linting, and very absorbent, and have all the properties required of a best-in-class wound care product, Suominen said in a press release.

In surgical laminates and apparel, Fibrella Perf offers excellent liquid transfer properties and absorbency. In addition, Fibrella Perf range offers choice for various sterilization methods.

Marika Mäkilä, the product manager for medical applications at Suominen said, “Suominen’s Fibrella products have served the medical markets in wound care and surgical products already for decades in Europe and North America. Now we are able to even better serve our customers in South America as we will start local production of Fibrella Perf at our Paulínia plant in Brazil.”

Suominen is the global market leader in nonwovens for wipes and employs approximately 600 people in Europe and in the US. (GK)
