Finnish nonwovens Suominen showcased its latest product innovations, specifically for the needs of the hygiene industry at Hygienix 2016, which was held October 24-27 in US. The products include acquisition and distribution layers (ADL) and topsheets that are specifically designed thin, yet are highly functional and made from spunlace nonwovens.

”Women are looking to replace conventional sanitary pads and other menstrual hygiene products with something more convenient and unnoticeable. In practice, they want thinner, softer and better fitting products,” Marjo Kuisma, product manager at Suominen said.
“We are able to deliver ADL made of 100 per cent natural fibres and are also currently developing new kind of nonwovens from renewable raw materials, specifically for the needs of the hygiene product industry,” she added. (AR)
