2011 will be the year of innovation for Eschler Textil GmbH. The company, which specializes in technical textiles, moved into the new office and administration building in Swabian Balingen in January, and is planning additionally to extend the production area during the year.

The knits specialist will again be presenting new creations at this year's Techtextil, in the sector medical and orthopaedic textiles, carrier materials for laminates and coatings, cleaning textiles plus various further special areas.

A new focus in the collection is the most recent product group called EXPO. This group includes, develops and markets textiles for the object sector, ranging from exhibition construction, protection against the sun, to stage requirements. Numerous interior and furniture designers are interested in Eschler's materials, including the young designer Hanna Emelie Ernsting, who created the so-called “Moody-Nest” for her series of seats. The designer experimented with flexible shapes and innovative materials and in doing so discovered spacer fabrics for her ideas. She created a unique seat using Eschler's 4.5 mm thick Elastic-Spacer. The bi-elastic 3D-textile was used for the colossal cover and lends the object the necessary flexibility and soft shape. “”Moody-Nest” gives the occupant the chance to let his or her mood expand and run free. The occupant's emotionality leaves traces in various ways, giving the object a lively appearance,” according to the designer.

Unusual structures and effective appearance are typical for Eschler's spacer fabrics range, e.g. by means of the defined construction of the pole yarn structure. This offers various design solutions and is highly suitable for many other decorative purposes.

Optimally adapted to each other – carrier materials for laminates and coatings

Eschler has had many years of experience in the sector carrier fabrics for laminates and coatings. The company offers a wide, diverse range of carrier materials, including among others very light qualities of polyester or polyamide from 35 g/m2, velvet-like surfaces or also rougher monofil knits. These materials can be used as base layers for membranes and functional coatings for the widest range of technical application, from artificial leather components, aid for the manufacture of composite fibrous material, boat covers, to military camouflage equipment. “The most important aspect in the development of such composite systems is the use of components which are optimally adapted to each other,” according to Matthias Eschler, managing director, “We thereby fulfil the highest quality requirements and supply individual textile-technical solutions.”

Protective and supportive – special textiles for the medical and orthopaedic sector

The special Eschler textiles for medical and orthopaedic requirements are protective and supportive. They include for example absorbent material for the incontinence sector, components for special pads for wounds, or systems which are low in particles for use in operations, offering patients protection against germs and bacteria.

Eschler's textile components provide therapeutic support for numerous physical troubles. Specializing in velours for Velcro applications, the company provides a wide spectrum of velour qualities that were developed for very differing uses and requirements. Well-known orthopaedic manufacturers process these Velcro systems, or composite constructions, e.g. combined with padding and pressure-stable spacer fabrics for bandages, orthotics and many more rehabilitation products. The collection includes, besides bi-elastic Velcro velour with a portion of elastane, also very robust and durable variations that are provided with a special coating. The company has also achieved very good results with this

material's ability to be fused, which is crucial for the following processing. The fact that Eschler supplies not only wide products but also customer-specific tailor-made band products is of interest to customers in the orthopaedic sector.
