Finland’s Ahlstrom completes glass microfibre media line investment

Finland’s Ahlstrom-Munksjö has completed its investment and started production for additional capacity in both filtration and energy storage materials at its plant in Turin, Italy. US’ IND Hemp and Hempitecture have signed a supply chain partnership for natural hemp fibres for Hempitecture’s nonwoven Hempwool insulation to be grown, processed and manufactured in the western United States. IND Hemp is coordinating genetics, agronomy and contracting production acres of industrial hemp fibre in Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

IIT Delhi’s Fabiosys Innovations develops antiviral fabric

Fabiosys Innovation, a deep-tech healthcare start-up incubated at IIT Delhi, has developed medical textile called Fabium. It is formed using a technology called Hi-PAT, making it highly effective against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Fabium starts working within seconds of contact with the pathogens and destroys 99.9 per cent of them within 30 minutes.
