Ireland’s Aran Biomedical has expanded its weaving capabilities to include the condensing of high-density woven fabric. It combines Aran’s existing compression techniques with dense woven fabric, allowing for the same material characteristics despite the thickness being reduced by 50 per cent. Aran specialises in medical implant product solutions.

Nice-Pak International, which produces wipes for global brands and retailers, has been working with customers to cut out plastic from more than 60 per cent of its products, up from less than 10 per cent in 2018. Austria’s Andritz has received an order from Liansheng Pulp & Paper to supply two tissue machines, including stock preparation equipment, to its mill in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, China. Start-up is planned for the second quarter of 2022. Andritz offers a broad portfolio of plants, equipment, systems, and services for the pulp and paper industry.

Canada’s Fab-Form has entered into a fabric development agreement with Japanese firm Hagihara. The agreement will enable both companies to research, test, and develop a unique fabric optimised for the Fast-Tube fabric column form. Concrete pressures in the fabric form induce tensile force in the weft direction only, not in the warp direction.
