US removes import ban on Malaysian synthetic glovemaker YTY

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has modified the Withhold Release Order (WRO) issued on January 28, 2022, against imports of synthetic disposable gloves manufactured by Malaysia’s YTY Industry Holdings Sdn Bhd (YTY Group). Effective immediately, the US will allow YTY Group shipments to enter the US if they are in compliance with US laws.

Japan’s Toray Industries’ revenue soars 15.5% in 9M FY23

Toray Industries has reported consolidated financial revenue of 1,901.8 billion yen, up 15.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY), for the first nine months (9M) of fiscal 2023 (FY23), ended December 31, 2022. However, core operating income fell 24.1% to 80.4 billion yen and profit attributable to owners of parent was down 16.5 per cent to 74.6 billion yen.

American firm Berry posts net sales of $3,060 mn in Q1 FY23

Berry Corporation, a leading global packaging, consumer goods and engineered materials company, has reported net sales of $3,060 million, a decline of 14 per cent YoY, in Q1 FY23. The decline in sales was mainly due to 6 per cent volume decline, decreased selling prices of 4 per cent and a 3 per cent unfavourable impact from foreign currency changes.
