Techtextil 2011 clearly confirmed and expanded its position as the world's leading platform for making and cultivating contacts between manufacturers and users of technical textiles and nonwovens with record numbers on both the visitor and exhibitors sides. More than 24,900 visitors from 96 countries saw the latest products and services presented by 1,199 exhibitors from 50 nations.
The fair was a complete success on both the national and international planes. Together with the extraordinarily high level of satisfaction among both exhibitors and visitor, Techtextil 2011 was the most popular edition of the fair for many years.
The range to be seen at Techtextil is as varied as that of the sector. Techtextil covers the entire value chain and is divided into eleven product groups and twelve areas of application, from industry and architecture to medicine whereby apparel textiles has always been one of the most important product groups.
From Techtextil 2013, it will be integrated into the new 'functional apparel textiles' product group, which replaces the former 'Avantex - innovative apparel textiles' product group and introduces even greater variety, e.g., new materials and finishes, wearable electronic systems, lamination technologies, new marketing strategies, materials with supplementary functions and textiles with medicinal properties.
This move will enable Techtextil to do justice to the growth potential of this segment and, thanks to the clear structure, make it easier for visitors to find companies with appropriate products. Additionally, this product group creates a particularly close link to Texprocess.
Additional attention for the range of products and services to be seen at Techtextil is assured by the concurrent Texprocess, Leading International Trade Fair for Processing Textile and Flexible Materials. Following the successful première in 2011, next year's Texprocess will begin on 10 June and end simultaneously with Techtextil on 13 June 2013.
As in previous years, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens will be distinguished by a comprehensive symposium programme and, therefore, not only offer an overview of the latest products and technologies but also be an indispensable platform for orientation and information about the sector.
At the Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt, the Techtextil and Avantex Symposiums will give all exhibitors and visitors a preview of trends and developments in the worldwide sector. And, with the Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards, and the 'Textile Structures for New Building' student competition, the latest developments and visions also have a firm place at Techtextil.
