With around a month still to go before the doors open, all the signs are that Techtextil from 24 to 26 May 2011 will be even more international than the last edition in 2009. Registrations for the international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens have been received from exhibitors in no less than 50 countries – more than ever before. “Thus, Techtextil has once again confirmed its position as the world's leading trade fair for the sector”, says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textile & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt. “Never before in its history has Techtextil been as international as this year. The sector is expanding worldwide – and we are proud to say that, with Techtextil, we can offer an ideal communication, marketing
and business platform.”

The leading exhibitor nations at the coming Techtextil are, at present, Germany with 401 participants followed by Italy with 106 and France with 102. There will also be a large number of joint stands. Eleven national pavilions – from Belgium, China, France, Italy, Canada, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, Taiwan, the Czech Republic and the USA – have been confirmed to date. The national pavilions are spread evenly throughout Halls 3.0, 3.1 and 4.1. All major players are represented on the exhibitor side and they include BASF, Bayer Material Science, Clariant, Dupont, Freudenberg, Georg Sahm, Groz-Beckert, Invista, Kordsa, Lenzing, Lindauer Dornier, Milliken, Naizil, Oerlikon Textile, Outlast Europe, Sandler, Schoeller Textil and SIOEN Industries.
Particularly well represented are exhibitors from the 'woven fabrics', 'coated textiles' and 'technology' segments, followed by 'fibres & yarns', 'nonwovens' and 'composites'. The leading areas of application are 'Indutech', 'Mobiltech', 'Buildtech', 'Hometech' and 'Protech', followed by 'Clothtech', 'Medtech', 'Sporttech', 'Geotech', 'Agrotech', 'Oekotech' and 'Packtech'.
For the first time, Techtextil is being held concurrently with Texprocess, Leading International Trade Fair for Processing Textile and Flexible Materials in Frankfurt am Main from 24 to 27 May 2011,and this will generate extensive synergetic effects for both exhibitors and visitors. The closely related themes of the two events – technical textiles and nonwovens on the one hand and technology and
machines for processing textiles on the other hand – mean there will be numerous overlaps, supplementary product groups and thematic additions. Over 20 companies, which used to exhibit at Techtextil, have opted to make their presentations at Texprocess this year. “As the organizers of both fairs, we have succeeded not only in offering exhibitors an event tailored even better to their needs but also to provide visitors with a significantly larger range of products and services that is structured even more transparently than before”, explains Olaf Schmidt.
This potent duo of events is supplemented by Material Vision –Trade Exhibition and Conference on Materials for Product Development, Design and Architecture – which will also be held at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center from 24 to 26 May 2011.
