Toho Tenax Co. Ltd., Teijin Group's carbon fibres and composites business, and Shanghai-based Teijin Aramid Asia Co., Ltd., the group's aramid fibres business, are exhibiting at the ongoing China composites expo 2015, Asia's largest composites exhibition, in Shanghai.
The Teijin booth (stand 808) is displaying innovative applications for carbon and aramid-fibre-reinforced composites developed by the Teijin group, a world leader in high-performance fibres.Toho Tenax Co. Toho Tenax is showing the value of TENAX carbon fibre materials' superior strength and lightweight properties for the Chinese market. A number of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) products based on different technologies are exhibited, highlighting applications in industrial machinery and robotics, both areas where demand is expected to rise. Tenax TPCL, a thermoplastic consolidated laminate being used in Airbus's extra-wide-body midsize jetliner the A350 XWB, is also a part of the show.
Teijin Aramid Asia is presenting two filament yarns, Twaron Black and Technora Black, both deep-black versions of high-modulus para-aramid fibres that were originally available only in yellow. The original yellow versions will be on display as well. The fibres are highly suited to applications requiring stiffness, strength, lightness and beauty, such as boat hulls and sails, motorcycle helmets, and other sporting goods. Other aramid composite applications on display include pressure vessels, circuit breaker rods and various others for use in civil engineering, according to a press release.
The Teijin Group combines high-strength, high-modulus carbon fibres and aramid fibres with resin to produce various composite materials for use in lightweight products for safety and protective solutions. (GK)
