MIT team develops acoustic fabric, being tested on ISS

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have developed an acoustic fabric which is extremely sensitive to vibrations and can detect impact from microscopic high velocity space particles. The fabric is made up of thermally drawn vibration-sensitive fibres, being tested on ISS, that convert mechanical vibration energy into electric energy.
