TRB is running an apprenticeship scheme to give individuals the understanding, skills and competencies needed for a role in the composites sector. Two apprentices from TRB have already been enrolled on this scheme. Harvard University makes soft robots more usable

Scientists at Harvard University have developed Smart Thermally Actuating Textiles (STATs) that bring about pressure changes in soft robots by electrically controlling liquid-vapour phase changes, eliminating the need for pneumatic tethers. This opens up new textile robotic applications. Soft robots need "actuating" and "sensing" systems for motion.

Lanxess to present lightweight solutions at VDI show
