Mitsui Chemicals supplying nonwovens for isolation gowns

Mitsui Chemicals is supplying nonwovens as raw materials for isolation gowns in an effort to support health care providers on front lines in cutting-edge medical facilities. This effort comes as increasing spread of coronavirus has made isolation gowns – for which Japan has been reliant on foreign imports – difficult to obtain amid the global pandemic.

Biax-Fiberfilm scaling up melt-blown fabric production

Biax-Fiberfilm Corporation of Greenville, WI, is scaling up its melt-blown fabric production for N95 masks and other medical applications. It has purchased a former Kimberly-Clark facility in Neenah which allows it additional space for the purpose. The plant that is being set up will be a mix between old and new technology developed by Biax-Fiberfilm.

INDA reschedules WOW conference to August 24-27

INDA has rescheduled the 14th edition of World of Wipes (WOW) International Conference to August 24-27 in response to updated guidance on phased reopenings in various states, consistent with guidance from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a view of airline scheduling changes over the summer in response to spread of COVID-19 virus.

Cifra launches Warp-Mask to protect against COVID-19

Los Angeles Mayor signs deal with Honeywell for masks

1st May 2020

Amidst increasing demand for Covid-19 respiratory protective gear, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Logistics Victory Los Angeles (LoVLA) have signed a deal with Honeywell to purchase 24 million N95 masks as part of a city stockpile of personal protective equipment (PPE). Production of the masks will start in May and continue for 24 months.
