Trade of Tarpaulins, Awnings and Sunblinds rises

In recent years, the global trade of tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds has been moving up with high growth rate. The total trade increased by 22.11 per cent from 2016 to 2018, according to the data from TexPro. The global trade of tarpaulins, awnings and sunblinds was $3,249.69 million in 2016, which increased to $3,968.12 million in 2018.

Audi using PET bottles in upholstery

For the first time, Audi has used seat upholstery made from recycled material in its fourth generation A3. Secondary raw materials are being used. Up to 89 per cent of the textile used is from recycled PET bottles, which are made into yarn. This results in fabrics that give the same quality in terms of look and feel as conventional textile upholstery.

German team improves composite components manufacture

A project funded by the Germany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy has shown the effectiveness of fibre-optic sensors in monitoring the vacuum infusion process during the production of large composite components.
