Supreme Nonwovens takes over Futuris' business

Supreme Nonwovens Group, India's largest nonwovens group, through its majority owned Thailand subsidiary Supreme Feltol Thailand, has taken over automotive interior trims and NVH business of Futuris Automotive. Futuris is a subsidiary of Adient, US. Post-acquisition of Futuris' business, Supreme Feltol will have a second plant in Eastern Seaboard.

Axiom Materials opens high-temperature composite centre

Axiom Materials has set up a new 3500-square-metres facility for the development, analysis, and production of ceramic matrix composite materials. The new centre enhances Axiom Materials' ceramic matrix composites (CMC) production capabilities in order to support increasing demand for high-temperature composites in aerospace and industrial applications.

Fuji to represent Cevotec in Japan and Thailand

The two have signed an exclusive representation and reseller agreement in this connection. India lifts ban on export of personal protection equipment

India has lifted the ban on the export of personal protection equipment, including masks. With this move, critical items like surgical masks, disposable masks and all kinds of gloves except those made of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), which China urgently needs, can be exported by Indian manufacturers to help China fight the coronavirus epidemic.

Schoeller's 3XDry gaining popularity

Schoeller's 3XDry finishing technology, which allows the exterior of a textile to be water repellent while the inside absorbs moisture and quickly distributes it over the surface, is gaining popularity among apparel brands. Textiles with 3XDRY dry much faster in comparison to conventional textiles. The patented technology was launched in 2001.

Fraunhofer Institute's way to assemble CFRP components

Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT along with four partners has developed a new method for assembling the carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) components, which saves time by shortening the production process. The method uses an ultrashort pulsed laser to drill holes for fasteners in the textile preform with micrometre-scale accuracy.

Burlington expands to Canada for insect repellent tech

Burlington, a global diversified provider of textile solutions, has expanded the licensing of its No Fly Zone Insect Repellent Technology into Canada and named Mark’s as the first licensee to sell garments protected by the proprietary No Fly Zone mosquito repellent technology.
