Etihad Engineering, the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) division of Etihad Aviation Group, has collaborated with EOS, a leading technology supplier in field of industrial 3D printing of metals and polymers, to open the region’s first additive manufacturing facility with design and production approval from European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

Thermwood, Purdue find way to compression mold parts

Thermwood and Purdue’s Composite Manufacturing & Simulation Centre have successfully been able to compression mold test parts using 3D printed composite tooling. The two have been working on using 3D printed composite molds for the compression molding of thermoset parts, and believe this will help bring additive manufacturing to compression molding.

Teijin, Veolia to use waste heat

Teijin and the industrial park operator Veolia have initiated a project to use the waste heat produced at the Heinsberg-Oberbruch site, saving around 1,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions yearly. The waste heat will be fed into the Veolia hot water network, which supplies the local companies. Teijin also wants to use this heat to heat its premises.
