Covestro's composites help design auto appearances

Covestro's Maezio continuous fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites have added a new tool to automotive designers' toolbox for designing unique appearances. These have been used in the wheels of the ES8 and ES6, the all-electric SUVs from Chinese Electric Vehicle startup NIO. The wheels feature aluminum rims with opt-in carbon fibre blade inserts.
