Covestro has joined hand with recycling specialist carboNXT to recycle composites. Recycling of composites is a challenge since waste consists of different materials that cannot be easily separated from one another. From the processed waste supplied by Covestro, CarboNXT will produce high-quality new compounds of carbon fibre-reinforced polycarbonate.

Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin has set up a new Textile Prototyping Lab (TPL) with a view to create creative high-tech textiles. The lab varies from the style of usual research laboratories by its design, and displays patterns, seams and mannequins. The Ontario state government in Canada is investing over $1.5 million, through the Ontario Together Fund, in Myant Inc. to help commercialise ‘connected wearables’, which can sense, monitor and help detect various symptoms that may signal the onset of diseases, including those associated with COVID-19. The project is expected to create 80 jobs.
