  • Velocity Composites' US site in Tallassee has achieved Nadcap accreditation, affirming its adherence to top aerospace industry standards.
  • This milestone, reached within the first year of composites kit production, highlights Velocity's commitment to high-quality processes.
  • The accreditation adds to the company's strong audit history at its UK facilities.
Aerospace composites specialist Velocity Composites has passed the global industry accreditation at its US site for those suppliers serving the industry and related sectors.

The Nadcap accreditation – the globally recognised National Aerospace and Defence Contractors’ Accreditation Programme – is an endorsement that Velocity’s robust processes and high product integrity meet or exceed the highest standards in the aerospace industry.

The accreditation for the Tallassee site of Velocity Composites in Alabama, US, is a major milestone for the facility, gaining approval within the first 12 months of first composites kit production.

The successful inspection also continues Velocity Composite’s impressive audit history across its UK sites in Burnley, Lancashire, and Fareham, Hampshire, over the last five years, the company said in a press release.

“It is pleasing for the Velocity team and reassuring for our customers that our processes have been externally verified to be robust across all of our sites. We pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality products to the aerospace supply chain, and customers and manufacturers can be confident that our standards meet the strictest criteria,” Matthew Archer, commercial and supply chain director at Velocity Composites, said.

Administered by the Performance Review Institute, Nadcap audits aim to ensure that suppliers to major aerospace Primes continue to meet the highest quality of compliance to customer requirements and industry standards.

Velocity Composites manufactures advanced carbon fibre and ancillary material kits for use in the aerospace and associated industries. The company uses its process knowledge, business processes and proprietary software to reduce the amount of material required by its customers and also reduces the associated process time waste when making aircraft parts.
