UCMTF to show equipment, services virtually at Techtextil in Germany

The French Textile Equipment Manufacturers (UCMTF) will offer, on their association stand, HALL 12 E 94, a first ever demonstration of virtual and augmented reality visits of their equipments and services at Techtextil, scheduled to be held from June 21-24, 2022 in Frankfurt, Germany. At Techtextil, virtual visit will be a new step forward.

MIT researchers develop fabric that converts sounds into signals

Engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and collaborators at Rhode Island School of Design have designed a fabric that works like a microphone, converting sound first into mechanical vibrations, then into electrical signals. Inspired by the human ear, a new acoustic fabric converts audible sounds into electrical signals.

AstenJohnson opens a state-of-the-art nonwovens plant in Waco, Texas

AstenJohnson, a textile manufacturer headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, with roots dating back to 1790, has selected Waco, Texas as the location for its eighth North American location. The company will invest over the next two years to build the 220,000 square foot facility. Waco and McLennan County provided incentives supporting the project.

DIFT’s German researchers replace toxic chemicals in tires & belts

Researchers at Germany’s DITF are showing ways to replace the harmful formaldehyde used in the manufacturing of tires and conveyor belts, with technically equivalent substances that are harmless to health.
