Wind & chemical sectors to work for wind turbine recycling

WindEurope, Cefic (the European Chemical Industry Council) and EUCIA (the European Composites Industry Association) have created a cross-sector platform to advance novel approaches to the recycling of wind turbine blades. WindEurope is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting wind power in Europe and worldwide, in over 35 countries.

TUM initiates "Green Carbon" project

German Federal Ministry of Education and Research is funding a research project led by the Technical University of Munich (TUM). The project titled "Green Carbon" aims to develop manufacturing processes for polymers and carbon-based light-weight construction materials based on algae which may be utilised in sectros like aviation and automotive industry.

Vabo to build high-tech superstructure and mast of yatch

Vabo Composites, a high-quality manufacturing company of composite products, has signed a contract with Dutch high-end yacht builder Royal Van Lent. The project includes building a more than 800 square metre superstructure and mast. The decision to build the topside of the yacht using high-tech composite material is intentional in order to save weight.

Berry completes acquisition of RPC group

Berry has completed the acquisition of RPC Group for a purchase price of approximately $6.5 billion, which includes approximately $4.3 billion of cash paid for the equity interest in RPC and $2.2 of net debt and estimated transaction related costs, subject to closing adjustments.
