HeiQ increases production of antiviral textile treatment

Swiss textile innovator HeiQ, has joined hands with Wacker, FHNW, and Alchemie to increase the production of HeiQ Viroblock NPJ103, an antiviral and antibacterial textile treatment. There is high demand for a solution to protect front-line emergency workers with virus-blocking textiles during the COVID-19 pandemic, and that is an enormous challenge.

NatureWorks & NWI to produce 10 million surgical masks

NatureWorks and the Nonwovens Institute (NWI) of North Carolina State University (NC State) have developed a new spunbond nonwoven technology enabling the production of at least ten million additional N95 surgical masks. NatureWorks manufactures Ingeo brand polylactic acid (PLA) and lactides, greenhouse gas-based materials for plastics and fibres.

Kimberly-Clark Corp reports 45% jump in Q1 FY20 net income

Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a manufacturer of personal care products and operator of non-woven fabric mills, posted 8 per cent sales growth to $5.0 billion in first quarter (Q1) FY20 ended on March 31, 2020 compared to sales of $4.6 billion in same period prior year. Net income for the quarter jumped 45 per cent to $675 million (Q1 FY19: $466 million).
