German team improves composite components manufacture

A project funded by the Germany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy has shown the effectiveness of fibre-optic sensors in monitoring the vacuum infusion process during the production of large composite components. The project has been implemented by the Fraunhofer Institute for Structural Durability and System Reliability LBF and MT Aerospace.
