Solvay has developed the material and technology to help automotive and aerospace industries to increase production of composite parts. Its fast-cure prepregs and Double Diaphragm Forming (DDF) are a way to automation. The group has put up a fully automated composite production line at its facility in Heanor, England to demonstrate the process.

Additive Composite Uppsala together with the Swedish filament developer Add North 3D has introduced a new high-technology polymer composite for radiation shielding applications. The product is based on research carried out by Uppsala University. The new product provides an alternative to other materials such as cadmium metal in many applications.

Neenah technical materials, a subsidiary of Neenah has announced an investment to increase production capacity for Cranemat to support continued strong growth in water filtration. The Cranemat business, based in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was acquired by the leading company involved in filtration business, in 2014 and has steadily grown since that time.

Supreme Nonwovens Group, India's largest nonwovens group, through its majority owned Thailand subsidiary Supreme Feltol Thailand, has taken over automotive interior trims and NVH business of Futuris Automotive. Futuris is a subsidiary of Adient, US. Post-acquisition of Futuris' business, Supreme Feltol will have a second plant in Eastern Seaboard.

The two have signed an exclusive representation and reseller agreement in this connection. India has lifted the ban on the export of personal protection equipment, including masks. With this move, critical items like surgical masks, disposable masks and all kinds of gloves except those made of nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), which China urgently needs, can be exported by Indian manufacturers to help China fight the coronavirus epidemic.
