Norske Skog Saugbrugs and Borregaard are producing a new type of biocomposite that may be used in furniture, packaging and car interiors. Norske Skog and Borregaard will develop sustainable solutions related to plastic raw materials, fibre blending, technology development and testing of biocomposites. The effort is being supported by Innovation Norway.

Kaman Composites - Vermont (KCV), a subsidiary of Kaman Corporation, has expanded its medical imaging customer base. It will manufacture complex composite assemblies for Carestream Health for their DRX product line. All composite detail parts and assemblies will be manufactured at the KCV facility in Bennington. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2020.

Solvay, an advanced materials and specialty chemicals company, will supply Halar ECTFE high performance film for Safran's LEAP engine acoustic panels. The two have signed an agreement in this connection. Film made from Halar ECTFE with additional plasma treatment provides excellent adhesion to composite substrates and superior aesthetic surface aspects.

Albany International has become part of Airbus' Wing of Tomorrow programme.
