Karl Mayer presents Smart Shirt at IDTechEx Show

At the latest edition of IDTechEx which was held on November 20-21 in Santa Clara, US, the manufacturer of textile machines turned up with a smart shirt for measuring vital bodily functions in its suitcase.

Freudenberg acquires Filc

Freudenberg, the global technology group has signed a final agreement to acquire 100 per cent of shares of Filc, a producer of needle punch nonwoven textiles and laminated materials with a focus on automotive and construction industry. Filc is headquartered in Škofja Loka, Slovenia and operates two more production sites in Mengeš and Lendava, Slovenia.

Covestro signs distribution agreement with BUFA

Covestro has entered into a distribution agreement with BUFA Thermoplastic Composites, a supplier of raw materials and semi-finished products for thermoplastic components. The agreement grants BUFA distribution rights for Maezio thermoplastic UD (unidirectional) tapes from Covestro, a world-leading supplier of high-tech polymer materials from Germany.

Kimberly-Clark names Michael Hsu as BoD chairman

Kimberly-Clark has announced that chief executive officer, Michael D. Hsu, has been elected to the additional role of chairman of the company's board of directors effective January 1, 2020. Hsu succeeds Thomas J. Falk, who plans to retire from the company and the board at the end of the year after serving as chairman for the past 16 years.
