Yoona Digital, a female technology (femtech) company based in Indonesia, has launched Yoona All Night pads 36cm, adding to their three previous products: pantyliners, 24.5cm day pads, and 29cm night pads. Yoona uses 100 per cent organic materials that are chemical-free, thus ensuring comfort and health of women during their menstruation period.

American chemicals company FRX Innovations Inc and China’s Sichuan EM Technology Co Ltd have collaborated to develop the world’s first halogen-free inherent flame-retardant upholstery fabric solution capable of meeting the stringent British Fire Standard BS 5852; part 1 for furniture. The solution is environmentally sustainable and permanent.

Ahlstrom-Munksjo has started to operate under the business name Ahlstrom as of October 3, 2022. The company has completed the ownership reorganisation of its decor business and thus proceeded with its plan to change its name to Ahlstrom. The divested decor business continues as an independent company under the well-recognised Munksjo name.

The Sri Lankan government recently initiated measures to waive off duties imposed on five imported raw materials for sanitary napkins produced in the country to make hygiene products more affordable for women and school girls, according to the Presidential Media Division. Tax concessions were announced for imported finished sanitary napkins as well.

Japan-based textile industry company Toray Industries, Inc, has announced that it has developed a new variety of nonwoven material, Ultrasuede nu, which partially consists of 100 per cent plant-based polyester. All Nippon Airways Co, Ltd (ANA), will use the fabric for making the headrest covers of the ANA Green Jet from November this year.
