Indorama Ventures acquires tire cord maker Glanzstoff

Thailand headquartered Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Glanzstoff Group, a European manufacturer of tire cord fabrics and single-end-cords (SEC). Glanzstoff is Europe's largest converter for tire cord fabrics with manufacturing facilities in Luxembourg, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Aerospace composites supplier Argosys opens Taiwan unit

Supplier of advanced composites and related materials to the Asia Pacific aerospace industry, Argosy International inaugurated its 2,000 square metre manufacturing facility in the Taichung Duty Free Zone in Taiwan. The new facility includes a clean room, cutting table, and freezer to process, cut to shape composite kits and will be qualified to AS9100.

Vestagen Protective closes $10 million financing round

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes and to support increased commercialisation activity for its Vestex Active Barrier fabric scrubs, lab coats and patient garments.

Hexcel to supply carbon NCF to auto composites maker Mubea

Hexcel has been awarded a contract for the first time by Mubea, a supplier of composites parts to the automotive industry. Hexcel will supply the company with Himax non crimp fabric (NCF) for the manufacture of carbon fibre monocoque chassis, which will be produced by resin transfer moulding (RTM) and use several different textile formats.
