The European Commission (EU) has today approved the merger between Ahlstrom Corporation and Munksjö Oyj. Ahlstrom and Munksjö have now received all pre-closing competition approvals required for completing the merger. R-Tech Materials’ polymer and composites testing laboratory has invested in a Zwick 250kN universal testing machine – the first of its kind in the UK to run on the latest testXpert III software. The machine is to be aligned to aerospace standards and will enable R-Tech to carry out more complex testing and increase its composites testing capacity.

Evonik Industries and Forward Engineering have set up a joint venture, Vestaro GmbH to drive forward industrial mass production of fibre composite components for the automotive industry. Supplier of medical and hygiene products, Hartmann Group is acquiring Lindor, an adult incontinence brand from Proctor and Gamble (P&G) in Portugal and Spain. As part of the deal, Hartmann will get all assets associated with the Lindor product portfolio, Intellectual Property and a 25,000 square metre manufacturing facility in Montornés, Spain.
