Metyx Composites to showcase new textiles at JEC 2017

Metyx Composites will showcase its latest high performance Eglass, aramid and carbon fibre technical textile products in its range of RTM, multiaxial and woven fabrics. The company will also promote the expanded production capacity and kitting service for fabrics, cores and vacuum consumables, which are now available from its factory in Hungary.

Stratasys introduces two new material advances

Stratasys, a 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions company, has come up with two new advanced materials - FDM Nylon 12CF, a carbon fibre-filled thermoplastic strong enough to replace metal components, and Agilus30, a new line of high-durability flexible materials that can withstand repeated flexing without tearing or deforming.

SCA Group to list hygiene products subsidiary

The board of directors of SCA will put up a proposal to decide on the distribution of all shares in the wholly owned subsidiary SCA Hygiene AB, to shareholders of SCA at its AGM on April 5, 2017. This effectively means a split of the SCA Group into two listed companies; one for the hygiene business and one for the forest products business.

A new aqueous acrylic binder for nonwovens is now available which meets high thermo-dimensional stability requirements. With ability to impart mechanical stability under thermal strain, the binder is particularly suitable for nonwovens that are used for construction and abrasive applications, and for nonwovens made of synthetic fibres such as polyester.

Porcher Industries, Airbus Helicopters showcase H160

The first cutting-edge civil helicopter with a composite structure, H160, is being showcased at JEC world in Paris. H160 is lighter, more robust and resistant to corrosion and fatigue, and has reduced maintenance needs due to its composite body. The aircraft is the result of collaboration between Airbus Helicopters and Porcher Industries.

Mogul Nonwovens has increased its nonwoven spunlace production by adding a cross-lapped spunlace line at its plant in Istanbul, Turkey. The cross-lapped product, introduced under the brand name Durell, supplements Mogul's existing production of Aqualace parallel-laid spunlace. The new line adds high performance products to Mogul's range of products.
