US’ Glatfelter posts $2.5 mn loss from continuing operations in Q2

Glatfelter Corporation has reported a loss from continuing operations for the second quarter of 2022 of $2.5 million, or $0.05 per share, compared with net income of $1.5 million, or $0.03 per share, in the same period a year ago. On an adjusted basis, earnings from continuing operations for the second quarter of 2022 were a loss of $1.6 million.

US’ Berry Group’s sales up 6% to $3.7 billion in Q3FY22

Researchers in Germany invent high-tech textile vest for lung patients

Scientists at Fraunhofer IKTS in Germany have created a textile vest with integrated acoustic sensors that helps in monitoring the lung function of patients with severe respiratory diseases. The Pneumo.Vest features a technology via which noises in the lungs are recorded and these signals are converted and displayed visually using software.

Ahlstrom-Munksjo to reduce carbon footprint at US plants

Finland’s Ahlstrom-Munksjo is set to invest in new technology and convert its existing boilers at its Mosinee and Rhinelander plants in Wisconsin, United States, to reduce its carbon emissions and landfill waste. The Mosinee plant will enable a reduction in its carbon footprint by 20 per cent, and a reduction of landfill waste by more than 10 per cent.
