EuroFibers launches new sister company EuroFabrics

EuroFibers, the leading Dutch supplier of high-performance fibres, has introduced its new sister company EuroFabrics - a one-stop shop for high-performance fabrics like BodyShield with special features like cut, slash, abrasion or fire resistance. EuroFabrics will be a key distributor of American SuperFabric in Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Toray to introduce nonwoven material with suede texture

Toray Industries Inc, has announced that it would introduce ‘Ultrasuede BX’, a nonwoven material with a suede texture which is about 30 per cent made of plant-based raw materials, in January 2019. The material realises the highest proportion of plant-based raw materials – polyester and polyurethane in the world making it environmentally friendly.

Zhejiang Kingsafe gets Stream winder from A Celli Group

Chinese company Zhejiang Kingsafe Nonwovens Fabric has bought a complete line comprising a Stream winder, a Rapid rewinder, a Slittomatic, an extractor, and an automated roll handling and packaging system from the A Celli Group. The line has the start-up scheduled for the first half of 2019. The company had earlier purchased a new winder from the group.

Directa Plus, Arvind extend collaboration to composites

Directa Plus (DCTA), a producer and supplier of graphene-based products for use in consumer and industrial markets, has signed a non-exclusive agreement with Arvind Limited covering two additional vertical markets - composites and water purification in India – following the collaboration between the companies in textiles announced in May 2018.

Sympatex to introduce spun-dyed functional textiles

Sympatex Technologies, the current pioneer in the field of sustainable functional textiles, will present a new line of spundyed laminates at the Performance Days trade fair in Munich from November 28- 29. Georgia Institute, Korea University make biofuel cell

Scientists at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Korea University have produced a glucose-powered biofuel cell that uses electrodes made from cotton fibre. This they hop could someday help power implantable medical devices such as pacemakers and sensors. The new fuel cell also provides twice as much power as conventional biofuel cells.
