ITA University bags AVK prize for Research & Science

Institut fur Textiltechnik of RWTH Achen University (ITA) has bagged the third AVK prize in the Research & Science category at Composite Europe, in Stuttgart, Germany. The awards aim to promote the development of new products and applications using fibre reinforced plastics as well as new procedures and processes for manufacturing these FRP products.

Burlington to supply fabric to US Marine Corps

Burlington Industries has got a $1.6 million contract to supply the US Marine Corps with micro denier polyester fabrics for use in their physical training (PT) trunks. This lightweight woven 100 per cent micro denier polyester fabric utilises Burlington's Moisture Control System (MCS) technology for advanced breathability and moisture management.

Total Composites Solutions (TCS), an advanced composite solutions company, has become the advanced composites partner for the UK for Vosschemie's automotive division, Carsystem. Bavarian company TK Industries has been taken over by Saertex. This increases Saertex's range of heavy-tow carbon fibre multiaxial fabrics. TK Industries is a specialised, medium-sized fabric manufacturer based in Selbitz, in Germany. At its production site, the company only processes carbon fibres with the latest multiaxial production technology.
